President Patrick's Installation SpeechGood evening. Past District Governors, Past Assistant Governors, fellow Rotarians, Rotaractors, distinguished guests, family, friends, and all who have joined us to celebrate this special occasion, good evening and welcome. This year, our focus will align with Rotary's Action Plan. We will increase our impact by delivering projects that create meaningful and lasting change. We will expand our reach through stronger partnerships that increase Rotary's visibility and influence. We will enhance participant engagement by ensuring our members enjoy an enriching Rotary experience through service, fellowship, and personal growth. And we will increase our ability to adapt by embracing innovation, technology, and fresh ideas, whether they come from members or from the wider community. Our vision for this year is simple. We want a club that continues to grow, where members remain engaged, where our meetings inspire, where fellowship flourishes, and where every service project leaves lives better than we found them. But there is one project that I believe has the potential to define this milestone year. Diabetes affects almost every Jamaican family in one way or another. According to the most recent Jamaica Health and Lifestyle Survey, approximately 236,000 Jamaicans are living with diabetes, and around 1,400 people have lost limbs because of diabetic complications. Behind every statistic is someone's parent, spouse, child, neighbour, or friend. We believe that together, we can change that story. Our Diabetes Foot Health Initiative will focus on three areas. |

Rotary Club of St. Andrew North Donates JMD $3 Million in Paediatric Equipment to Black River Hospital
Posted on Jun 05, 2026
The donation, made possible through the generous support of KR Method (USA), Apex Foundation (USA), and United Way of Jamaica, included an infant incubator, a phototherapy lamp, and infusion pumps to enhance the hospital's capacity to care for newborns and young children. President Pierpont Wilson noted that the donation represents more than medical equipment—it is an investment in hope, improved health outcomes, and stronger healthcare services for Jamaica's youngest patients. This initiative forms part of the Club's broader Hurricane Melissa Recovery Programme, through which the Rotary Club of St. Andrew North and its partners continue to invest in healthcare, education, and community resilience across Jamaica. Together, we are transforming lives through service and partnership. |

RCSAN Improves Safety and Living Conditions at Missionaries of the Poor Homes
On November 24, 2025, the Rotary Club of St. Andrew North (RCSAN) made a meaningful contribution to the Missionaries of the Poor – Jacob’s Well Home, located at 74 Hanover Street, Kingston, in support of improved safety and living conditions for its residents. As part of the donation, RCSAN provided twelve (12) emergency lights and a 1,000-gallon water tank to assist the home in meeting essential fire safety standards and requirements. These items will significantly enhance emergency preparedness and overall safety at the facility. In keeping with the spirit of service and compassion, the club also donated forty-eight (48) new twin bed sheets for the residents. This gesture was offered as an early act of love and care in anticipation of the Christmas season. The total value of the contribution is estimated at approximately JMD 250,000. This initiative was made possible through the continued generosity, commitment, and kind hearts of RCSAN members and supporters, who remain dedicated to uplifting vulnerable communities and living out Rotary’s guiding principle of Service Above Self. |

Careers Day 2018
Posted on Apr 15, 2018
"Think outside the box" was the command of the key note speaker Dr. Renee Rattray, Senior Manager Learning, Development and Culture of the JN Group as approximately 280 students converged at the Spanish Court Hotel on April 16 for the annual Rotary Club Career Day to be hosted by the Rotary clubs of Kingston, St. Andrew and St. Catherine. The 2018 theme "Careers for the innovative and inventive" created high engagement among students as they sat in interactive break-out sessions with speakers who were experts in their respective fields such as cosmetology, information technology, social media marketers and developers, medicine, law and engineering. Alicia Taylor Flow's Pre-sales Engineer spoke to a very excited group of students as she encouraged the students to use their knowledge to be different and excel. "The Flow Foundation is excited to sponsor this event as this fits in with its mandate for developing education among youth" said Kecia Taylor, Senior Legal Councel and Director - Service Projects, Rotary Club of St. Andrew North. Flow rewarded Holy Trinity and Norman Manley High School students with phone credit and their teachers with cellular phones for being the first schools to arrive at the event. ![]() Photographer - Leo Hudson

Easter Project
Posted on Mar 25, 2018
"Some remember walking up the sidewalk to church on Easter morning with their family. Mom wore a hat, Dad was in a suit, and the children had on their finest Spring clothes. Others remember searching for eggs and candy, then tearing into an Easter basket brimming with treats. Christians give thanks for the resurrection of Christ, while others look forward to the daffodils and crocus’ to appear. Whatever your memories, Easter is a time of renewal and awakening." http://www.wishesquotes.com/easter/happy-easter-wishes-and-greetings ![]() RCSAN made cards with loving wishes to members of the Golden Age Home (3 St. Joseph's Avenue Kingston 03). We decorated and made collages to put in each clusters.

Christmas Treat 2017 - Mary's Child
Posted on Dec 16, 2017
RCSAN treated the teens at Mary's Child to a meal and gifts on Saturday December 16, 2017. We have developed relationship with them over a few years and enjoy the time we spend with them. Mary's Child "Teen Mothers & their Babies - Since its creation, Mustard Seed Communities (MSC) has focused on the well-being of the young, particularly those who are unable to care for themselves - the ill, the disabled, and the abandoned. As the presence of MSC has grown their mission has expanded to continue to meet the needs of the most vulnerable. Designed in 1992 to provide a secure home and spiritual environment for abandoned pregnant teenagers, the Mary's Child program began as more than just a shelter, dedicated to stimulating growth in every facet of the young mothers' lives." ![]() ![]() |
