On Thursday, July 30, 2026, in recognition of Rotary International’s Maternal and Child Health Month, the Rotary Club of St. Andrew North reaffirmed its commitment to improving the health and well-being of Jamaica’s most vulnerable children through the donation of a mobile nebuliser compressor machine and 27 nebuliser kits, complete with masks and tubing, to My Father’s House, a residential home operated by Mustard Seed Communities.
Home to more than 40 children living with physical and intellectual disabilities, My Father’s House provides compassionate, around-the-clock care for children with complex medical needs. Respiratory illnesses can present serious challenges for many of these children, making timely access to nebuliser therapy an essential part of their care.
The donated equipment will enhance the home’s ability to administer prescribed respiratory treatments efficiently while ensuring that multiple children can be treated safely using dedicated masks and tubing.
“A big thank you for your kind donation and thank you for considering us, and I am sure this donation will go a far way,” said Ms, Alexis Rose, Assistant Administrator of My Father’s House.
Beyond the equipment itself, the donation provides caregivers with additional resources to deliver quality healthcare and greater peace of mind to the children in their care.
This initiative reflects Rotary’s commitment to one of its seven Areas of Focus, Maternal and Child Health, which seeks to improve access to quality healthcare and give every child the opportunity to grow and thrive. By supporting organisations such as Mustard Seed Communities, Rotary helps strengthen the network of care that protects health and dignity of children facing significant medical challenges.
President Patrick Forrest said the donation reflects the club’s commitment to supporting the health and well-being of vulnerable children and strengthening partnerships with organisations that serve the community.
